BIOGRAPHY

White, RN

MaryEllen, nee Donnelly formerly of Hoboken. A resident of Weehawken since 1981 passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at Cancer Treatment Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday, May 10th. A retired school nurse, she worked at Memorial High School for more than 19 years and six years at the Albio Sires elementary School in West New York, New Jersey. Surviving are two cherished sons, Thomas Paul, Deputy Director of Public Safety for the Township of Weehawken and wife (Sandy) Whitehall, James Donnelly White, Captain for the Weehawken Police Department and wife (Jenn) and a devoted daughter Maryellen. Also surviving is her loving mother Isabella (nee) McGorty, her cherished sister Denise Donnelly. Also survived by her three loving grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan and Erin. She was predeceased by her husband Hoboken Police Officer, Thomas Paul White and brother James T. Donnelly.

 

MaryEllen maintained her professionalism in School Nursing as a member of the New Jersey Education Association and the Hudson County School Nurses Association. She was a graduate of St Mary School of Nursing in 1975 and received her Master’s Degree from Jersey City State University.

 

A Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hoboken 4th Street at Willow Avenue on Tuesday, May 16th at 9:30 a.m. She will be interred with her late husband Tom at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey. Visitation, Monday, May 15th from 2-5 PM and 7-9PM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken. Valet parking in rear of memorial home off Sixth Street.
